Tyvm, that's why I bought it ;). I do have a question though, regarding health. He has made me aware that she is 3/3 feeding attempts (on rats) at at 4.5 weeks old, next feed will be this weekend. I assume he was waiting for the first shed to feed the first meal, then when it did not shed fed at the two week mark which sounds reasonable to me. I personally was worried that it will be 5 weeks old before its first shed so I asked if he could hold it til the shed before shipping it and he agreed also with a 48 hour live arrival and health guarantee, which is what I like to see from breeders that don't already have a big reputation to work off of(that I could locate at least). Her current weight is at 53 grams empty, which will be the lightest and youngest ball python i've bought to date. He did give me a lot of background info on the sire/dame and siblings, the siblings also had a very long first shed period but had very recently just shed, she is the only one who hasn't yet.

I don't know, 53 grams at 4.5 weeks old has not shed yet but has had 3 rats. How big was she when she hatched? 25grams?

I ha a black pastel male that hatched at 33g first shed was two weeks after hatch, ate two weeks after that. Has taken 5 meals unassisted but still only weighs about 40g. The non eating period dropped him to about 22g. He is finally putting on the weight though.

Bro that's exactly what I was thinking but for one I know it's not unheard of, I am more glad about the fact she has taken 3 meals on three tries. Maybe she just needs to get a bit older to get into the swing of things...I noticed my Black Pewter female is taking off compared to my fire female and only 1 week older but the difference is at least 20-30 grams. both on rat pups, I just feel some retain the nutrients better than other sometimes...or poop less.

The fact that he is willing to hold her til she does shed at least shows his confidence in supplying a healthy product, at least in my eyes. He also did mention that her siblings have gone through a similar shed process, taking 4 weeks out of the shell.

Soooo...I guess this is just me being optimistic.

It will probably all work out in the long run. I personally would not have put her up for sale until she shed but that's just me.

Good luck and post some pics when you get her home.
