That's great, though, that you still have her and I guess she's healthy, if small. My little guy has missed 3 meals, so I'm betting he'll be pretty hungry when I try to feed him tonight. :)

Great picture, Hockeymom! You have very handsome kids...and lovely pets! And a cool story, too! How many herps do you have?

Wowzers!! That's quite a collection! I would LOVE to see your herp room! How long until you can breed those het pieds???
What does your husband think of all this? Mine is extremely skeptical of the whole herp thing, especially the snakes, which is what I love most. But he agreed that when the kids are more grown, and we've retired from the military (settled into a permanent home) then I can pretty much collect whatever I wish and start my own breeding projects. That's a long ways down the road...and I'm really hoping by that time, his interest will grow and he'll be more of a partner in all of that, rather than just a tolerant hubby. :)

Hi Judy-
I am waiting on my het pied to drop her eggs any day now. I am getting a little nervous, this is my first time breeding ball pythons. Corns seem to be a lot eaisier to breed. My husband is not sure about the whole reptile thing. He supports my habit but just isn't into it like I am. He trys but ya know how it is. As long as he keeps up the financial support thats all I ask. I mean it would be a lot of fun if he was into as much as I am, as long as he tolerates them I guess thats ok. Any ideas of what breeding project will be your first when you finally get to dive in?

That sounds like the most I can really expect from my hubby. And if that's the extent of it, I'll still be a happy camper because he's a wonderful man...and kudos to him for being willing to even be so tolerant and financially supportive. :)
The very first time I ever saw a picture of a pied ball, I totally flipped and knew I had to have one. That'll probably be my first breeding project. I'll probably start with hets, like you're doing. I also love the caramel albinos and mojaves and clowns. So...in short...I'd like to focus on a few special bp morphs. Beyond that...who knows what will capture my fancy between now and that moderately distant future? LOL There's tons of different snakes and a few other herps that I dream of owning...but bp's are what I'd like to breed most.
I'd be a nervous wreck in your shoes, I think! LOL Anxiously waiting for the eggs...and then praying they stay warm and healthy and hatch! I can't wait to see some pics of little baby pieds!
