Re: New spider bp! Only been fed live...
I thaw mine in HOT water, including my 2 newest how were yearlings feeding only on live. I never use a blow dryer. And for the most part I don't have many meal refusals. Each of my 3 year olds has has gone through their BP "fussy" stage, where they went a few months each between meals. In both cases, they eventually returned to normal eating routine, when they were good and ready to do so, with no extra tricks by me.

Give your new girl a week in her new home, then toss and dance an FT in front of here, I bet she hits it, within 60 secs.

I hope you and he are still great friends! Is he the same one as in your current avatar?

Did you have any trouble with getting him switched over?

You want to get the prey's temp up to about 90-100, make sure it's not too warm so you don't experience explodo-rat. And then, yeah, night time feeding is best, 'cause they're most active at night. And just do a little jig with the rodent.

Don't stress over it. It's really just like going for a walk.

I really dread to ask. But my curiosity got the better of me.

    What, exactly, is explodo-rat

It wasn't my term, but same thing as you would get if you put one in the microwave.. Just not as extreme I guess.
