    I found my wine cooler for $40 on CL.

    My price for a large glass front is $100.... maybe $150 max. I found a nice Coke one in Atlanta I'm going to check out later this evening/tomorrow am.

    lights adds heat, go away from home and have a bulb blow after you leave, temps drop.
    I ripped the lights out of our incubators, they just are not necessary.

    yeah temps would drop but like he said thats what the tstat is for in any event i wired the light to a switch on the outside of the incubator so i can just turn it on when i wanna have a look see through the glass =P

    A 17w florescent bulb puts out about as much heat as 1" of 11" flexwatt.... not an issue.
