Thanks ya'll, my opinion of this boy's skills definitely went up. They were live but the first one was dead when I dropped in the second. I was expecting him to release the first and strike the second but he surprised me with a stunning display of coordination using just his tail to pin the second rat against the glass. I was monitoring closely but wasn't particularly worried as the feeding response on this guy is insane. I actually have to distract him to the other side of the enclosure before I'm able to open and drop a rodent(dead or alive) in there cause once he smells food he's on the alert and ready to come out flying! I lean towards live/prekilled prey now as f/t just aren't stable enough - he thinks they're water balloons in disguise and loves popping them.

Interesting. When I feed a snake 2 mice at a time I offer one, let him kill and swallow it, then offer the other. Never both at the same time (not that he couldn't handle it)

Great snake and feeding response, but even with a snake like that "I" wouldn't do it but you were right there

lol I bet if you had to reach for the second rodent he taking you on as a 3rd prey items lol.. I had a boa that would grab anything you offere her withing seconds of it being put into the cage and I had to wait at least an hour before I could open the cage again cause if not she was after you thinknig it was more food but outside that she was harmless as long as you didn't have fur on you lol
