I have plenty of carpets that will down reject food and a boa as last case scenario that will eat anything and everything!

I put it back in the freezer for 1 more try the next week. After that it either gets put in the freezer until trash day or it gets tossed in the woods. Usually I don't have a problem with wasted rats anymore. With 9 snakes there's always someone willing to eat a little extra, and if not my snapping turtle is always game for a treat.

That must be expensive. In the wild bps are opportunistic feeders. And will from time to time eat already killed or dead prey.

I feed at 10pm pull uneaten rats out at 6am in the morning.. Then refreeze, i will attempt to feed a rat 3 times before admitting defeat.. It all depends on ur feeder stock. My supplier packs very fresh, so i get 3 tries with minimal decomp

I feed only fresh kill to all my snakes. If they dont take it they got in container with the rodent till around 6am but i would never freeze and try again. The rodents all alreadly have a funky smell so i put them in organics outside and the city takes them away

So far it hasn't been too bad. He's turned his nose up at 4 rats so far. I'm offering them every 5 or so days. I got my rats from American Rodent supply.. I don't want to risk refreezing and feeding again..

I once put a refused rat in my neighbors work boot, after I threw water balloons at him while he was sleeping.......

We have boas and burms, so usually nothing gets thrown away here. But occasionally we do have rats that die and they go in the dumpster.
