I had to use my evacuation plan last year when hurricane Irene came through. In addition to my pack and evac plan, I also have an emergency disposal plan for my frozen feeders. It's a good thing, because my power was out for 5 days.

I'm glad I brought this up a while ago. Santa Barbara currently has another fire!

I have a 'bail out bag' (kayaked for many years) in it are snake bags for all the snakes a dog carrier for the dragon. There is a length of heat cable and t-stat and a ultratherm UTH. I have a pair of snuggle safes (http://www.snugglesafe.co.uk/heatpad.htm seriously great product BTW) and 24 hr and 40 hr heat packs. The bag its self is a heavy duffel with tight fitting zips in a real emergency it can be a communal snake bag until the opportunity presents to use the bags inside it. The biggest issue I worry about is fire. Power loss is a concern but I have the ability to deal with heat (propane catalytic heater) for a few days so the rush evac is not a huge issue. My relocate house is 2 hours away and is not on the power grid to start with so things there in long term power failure are quite normal.
