Ugh. I'm about done with this "wall." I have a female het pied I was HOPING to breed this season but she decided to hit her 1000g wall about 5 months ago and has been SUPER picky since then. Looks like I'll have to wait yet another year for my pieds. :taz:

Mike...I'm going to try your switching spots method. Either that or I'll just pull all my hair out and make a little bed for her. ;)

Please drop me a PM and let me know if it works for you!

Just curious if me and my bps are freaks or if the method is actually legit lol. :)

All these crazy methods haha. A big UK breeder suggested taking a picky breeder male out for a 30 minute drive to turn him on. Works for them haha. Crazy BPs and their stubbornness.. Maybe that's why I like 'em so much :P

I've experienced that dreaded wall myself.

My het pied female Toki was an eating machine. She slammed rat after rat, and F/T too. Then at 975 grams, she quit eating. I spent nine long months with her. I tried bigger rats, smaller rats, live and P/K, mice, gerbils, and she would have none of it. She never lost much weight, but she would not eat. Then little by little she started hit and miss feeding, usually a mouse or two. Eventually she started accepting live rats and began putting on weight again.

As a result, I got my first eggs from her this year instead of last, and she's still a small girl. But, she's back eating fairly regularly and regaining her pre lay weight.

I've had my Cinny hit the wall, my Mojave did, and even my neglected Fire did for a while. The only female who never really hit the 1000 gram wall was my second het pied female. She ate fairly consistently all of last year, and only stopped when she started breeding this season.

My male has been off feed for a month now after he went from 960g to 1300g. So I guess even he hit his wall.
