If you incubate at 88 degrees, you're looking at 60+ days of incubation.
I incubate at 88 .7 or so and have never had a clutch go 60 days in the incubator.
52 to 55 days almost every single clutch.
I do agree they don't always come out in 2 days, that's just not true.
With how inaccurate most thermometers are I think it's very easy to be a degree or two off of what one might think they are incubating at.

Ill see if I can get some pics posted... But pretty devastated I think I have now lost two supers. I just feel like their all just going to slowly die on me... Very upset... Never should have let someone talk me into cutting them. I have two thermometers in there and they read between 88-90 but I got out my digital temperature reader and it said the eggs were like 85 degrees...so I don't know now if I cut them too soon or what based on that temp or if it was just because I had the lid off. I'm leaving them alone until they come all the way out unless someone else has some advice to help me save my babies.

You can flush the eggs with distilled water or saline that is warmed up to the incubator temps. The cloudiness is bacteria growing. I hope they make it!

    Hi,

Have you beed remembering to flush any mould or anything out of the eggs with clean water (at incubator temp ) and a q-tip?

How big a hole did you make?

    Can we see some pictures?

    Hi,

Yes, when you cut eggs you allow all sorts of things in so you need to take a little care of them.

You can send the pics to drdel@ball-pythons.net and I will put them on my imageshack and post them for you.

    85 degrees = 70+ days of incubation.
Sorry to hear about your losses.
Hope this thread changes some peoples minds about their "need" to cut...

Knotted cord? What did you have to do for that? This is the first I'm reading of this, learn something new everyday :) Tell me more please! :)

dr del, this is interesting read for me, and I would like to read more about flushing out with distilled water and cleaning and clearing out with distilled water please. As I have a clutch due starting sept 22, 2012 and would like to be as prepared as I can be. :)
