The main difference is locality. BCIs range from Mexico to Columbia....while BCCs are from Suriname, Guyana, Peru. The other obvious differences include physical appearance. The BCCs are the "true red-tails" as their tails only get redder and brighter as the age. The BCCs also can attain much larger size and are a bit trickier in terms of husbandry and temperament.
