Believe me, nippy balls do exist. I'm new to snakes and the one I saw at petco wanted to have me for dinner! It Launched it self at my face and missed by a foot  It was the first time a snake had tried to bite me and I was dazed for a whole day afterwards. But it was a valuable lesson for me and it was good that I learned it early!

And that Ball was MEAN! I put it back in the enclosure and It raised it self up like a Cobra and in the S shape. And it struck Repeatedly at the glass.
And the funny part was that the sales person was telling me how friendly all the Balls were in their store

My "rescue case" adult WC bp is really nippy. In the few short minutes that it took for us to transfer her from her tank to new rubbermaid, she managed to give my boyfriend a good-sized bite on his hand. Pretty nasty. but she was an adult bp who was plucked frrom the wilds of Africa, so I don't really blame her for being a tad *****ee. :(

    Well,
My big male Apok was sort of striky and nippy there for a couple of months ( he got me on my thumb one nite ) but he appears to have settled down and is way more docile and handleable than he was before..that being said he is still kind of head shy and does not like to be approached suddenly or from the front of his head...so I would hazard a guess that there ARE probably some bitey BPs out there...it would be kind of impossible I think for ALL of them to be sweethearts.....LOL....

I've had several nippy ball pythons and coincidentally all were females, LOL.

Its always a good idea to allow your BP to become an established feeder before you start handling it on a regular basis. Balls do not handle stress very well and it can easily affect their health.
