I was also wondering about the location of the feeding. Somesites say that you should remove your BP and feed it elsewhere. So that they do not assiciate their cage with a feeding enviroment. What are your thoughts on this?!?!?!

it's primarily up to you and your bp's feeding behavior. the reason for doing this is to 1) keep the bp's enclosure as clean as it was before he was fed, 2) so your bp won't associate you opening the cage with feeding.

I think feeding out of the cage is unecessary and potentially can deter your snake from feeding at all. BPs are shy, ambush predators....they often do not like to be moved into a bare container where they cannot feel secure to eat....a snake is at its most vulnerable when it is eating, so it may be apprehensive about eating outside of the cage. Also, you'd have to move it after it ate and handling your snake that shortly after it fisnishes a meal could result in it regurgitating.

On the other hand, if you use a loose substrate you must either feed in a separate container or put down paper on top of your substrate when feeding to avoid accidental ingestion of the substrate, and I've never (knock wood) had a regurge as a result of putting one back in the enclosure to digest.

Maybe B-Ps.net could put together a name sheet haha - names for various reptiles like ball python names and everyone could submit the names they used, thought of, or great ones that they heard

Why not start a name thread for that purpose, Jonah? :)

Yeah, I might try that...hmm. Thanks. I'll create a thread in site events in a bit. Maybe tomorrow morning.
