Charlotte sleeps with her head and neck sideways, sticking out of her hide. Upside down is even worse though.

My spider girl is coming up on 4 years old, and doesn't seem to show any of these symptoms that everyone else talks about with spiders... Am I just that lucky I guess? She has a very very tiny head wobble when shes in a tight attack stance after I drop a rat in her tank, but that's it. I couldn't imagine waking up to find her sleeping upside down. I too would have a minor heart attack!

Sounds like your guys Spiders have some mild to sever cases of head wobble. It does effect spider gened morphs such as the Bee lines as well. My big female has a moderate case of head wobble too. She does sleep with her head at an angle sometimes. I agree they are crafty creatures. Biggest scare i had was when i opened the tub of my male lesser and low and behold he wasnt there! took me a couple moments of looking around the room before i found him hiding in the very back of the tub underneath the newspaper!

It sounds like your spider has a really bad case of head wobble. I personally always feel bad for them some people say its cute and stuff but when i see a spider flip its head completely backwards or spaz out and they cant control it makes me feel bad. I dont like they devolop that trait i really enjoy the spider lines and what their genes due to other morphs

Better yet, wait until you have a young breeding male disappear from his female's tub, and about the time you notice he is gone, you notice the female looks really swollen and is acting all funny. And you think you just witnessed cannibalism first hand. Only to discover the brat boy curled up on the heat tape behind the females tub a short while later!

I think these guys live to give us heart seizures.

I could kick myself for not having one Wed. night.

My new little Fire baby has been eating by just politely picking up her hopper and carrying it into her hide.

This last time, she discovered that she was...a snake!

I laid the mouse at the door of her little half-coconut shell and all of sudden, her head shot out and then straight up and she came down upon it shaped exactly like a hammer.

She sort of "pounded" it with her nose, grabbed it in her mouth, pathetically "killed" it with a half-hearted "I have no idea why I'm doing this" coil and then stuck her little skinny neck straight up in the air at least 6 inches, waving the poor squished hopper all around, crazily.

At last, she dragged inside and ate it.

Such a display of primal savagery out of a such an itty-bitty little 98 gram snakeling.

I thought I was gonna cry, I was laughing so hard.

    I wish I'd had a camera.

Practically makes me hold the rat in the center of his tank dripping on him for 5 minutes, all the while the stupid cat is poking her head in there as to say hey what's the deal here how come I don't get rats as a snack lol

I immediately thought of this post lol

And there's another reason i don't want any spider stuff. The wobble thing and stories like this one have completely turned me into a total spider window shopper, nice to look at but not own, lol.

That's how mine got the name "short bus", He doesn't show any signs of wobble until after nightfall, then he twists his head and neck straight back over his back and does his stevie wonder impersonation. He does two things very well though, eat and breed. Here's a pic of one of his offspring, she hasn't showed any signs of wobble yet.
