Foschi Exotic Serpents
That snake needs an iodine soak, (betadine), and then burn cream, (silver sulfadiazine). Do NOT put any oil based salve or gel on it like bacitracin, neosporin, etc.. Those will cause it to fester and get worse..
A 15 minute soak in a tub with water and a few spoons of betadine. So the water is a light tea color. Just enough water to come 3/4 up the snakes sides so it doesn't have to try to swim. This will kill the bacteria and help it dry out. It needs to dry out.
Keep the snake on paper towels and keep it very clean. A large water bowl can be added for extra humidity in the air but don't let the snake lay on a moist surface.
It needs to see the vet because the cream that is required (silver cream) is only available from the Dr. This cream will help it heal quickly. It will kill bacteria, prevent infection, allow it to dry out while still being able to "breathe", and prevent any infection from getting into the blood stream.
Get it's heat source regulated.

Poor baby!!
-hugs-
I agree with the earlier post about the beta-dine solution. Some lidocain or novacain topically would probably help too...
Keep us updated- you and your snake will be in my thoughts and prayers.

title should of had a warning on it, as those pics are harsh (for people who can't handle it)
Did your mom explain why she put the rope in?
Hope the process is going well. (it is amazing what snakes can go through to heal up).
Best of luck.

I'm glad whatever picture hosting site those are on is blocked on my work computer and I don't need to see this.
Sorry this happened to you.
I am always confused when people put an animal in an unfinished enclosure. Before I get a new pet I make their new home as perfect as can be BEFORE I go pick out the individual animal and buy it.
You live and learn, I guess...

It takes a lot to admit you have done wrong. I won't berate you for what has happened, as you are bullying yourself up enough. Now you know better, and this won't happen again. So good on you for stepping up and doing what you can to fix this. Hopefully others will find this and learn from the situation.
