Welcome aboard, Gen! I'm sure he'll come through for you, it hasn't been very long at all. He was probably just stressed. :( He'll eat in no time, just keep all his temps and humidity right and you'll be good and he'll be happy. :)

I think his enclosure is set up okay. I've got his temp at 80-85, his basking spot's about 90, it gets down to about 75 at night. The humidity is usually between 50-55. And I've get a hollowed out log for a hide that he loves to hang around. Thanks for all of your welcomes! I'm so glad I found this site.

This is definitely the best forum for bp fans. :) Your bp needs both a warm side hide and a cool side hide, though, so he doesn't have to choose between security and regulating his temperature.

They also like hides that are really snug. You'd be surprised at what small spaces they will happily cram themselves into!

    Anybody here keep hot snakes???
So I went and got Monty a new hide today. It's a round clay-type house with a hole in the front. He's asleep(I think) under his log right now, so I can't wait till he wakes up and finds his new little shelter! Hopefully he'll like it.

I'll bet he'll like that a lot. I just made Hanover something similar and he seems delighted with it.
