Re: Getting closer...I can almost taste it.
$12 - 15 is actually a pretty good rate for a CNA. Depending on what type of facility it is, the CNAs here in San Diego make anywhere from under $10 to maybe $15 and some change. If the environment interests you, I'd recommend looking into an ER tech position. The certification requirements vary... Some hospitals require nothing but a BLS card, while others want EMT credentials, but it's typically the top paying "nurses' aide" type positions. I work in a Level 1 trauma center, and I had nothing but my BLS when I started at WELL over $15/hr. Interestingly enough, I work for a hospital that's well known for being on the lower end of the pay scale. There's another Level 1 in San Diego that starts their ER techs at $25+, but they require EMT. Since I have a degree in respiratory therapy, there's no point in going back for an EMT.

Again, congratulations on your CNA, and best of luck with your AS. If you need any advice or job hunting tips, I'm more than happy to help.

It ranges a lot here too I know nursing homes at from like $7.25-10 and the hospitals are $10-15 but since I will have my certification I'll be on the higher of the scale at the hospital and that's just to start
