Not using hide

Ive had him a month and a half.
he came grom a home where he was exposed to high white lights 24/7 only had one hide and had no real temp gradient.and had retained eye caps he also had 2 sharp,rock that damaged some of hos belly scales.

He now has 2 hides, belly warmth and isnt exposed to high,lights.
hes eated every time that ive fed hom ecery sunday for tge last 6 weeks. Hes had one shed with me so far it was perfect in one piece even got his eye caps off.

He poops, pees and drinks normsl.

His temps are all good,probes are on the right place.

Hes been to the vet checked out fine except for being a lil unferweight due to parasites. Those ate npw gone hed gained at least 50 grams in my care so far, i bumped up his food size since they wete under feeding him.

Hes a good tempered snake easy to handle .
has no respitory problems. No mucus oe weezing.
no mites.

so idk why hes being wierd.

Where is your lamp at? Middle, over the hot side? If the lamp is shinning on the rock he might like laying on it beacuse its warm. The lamp is going to heat the ambient but its also going to make whatever it shines on pretty hot. I have a log under a lamp and its 95 degrees measured with an IR gun, but the ambient on that side of the tank is more like 85.

The lamp is in the middle ish.closer to the hot side over the water bowl some to help the humidity. So its about 8_10 inches from the rock hes laying on top of.

Your ball just feels secure. Means your doing a good job IMO. Mine will hide in weird places or I wont see her for days unless I peak in lol.

See tgats what i think that ges just an odd vall that likes to lay on top of one of his hides, and sleep under the other.
Hes not acting stressed. Like hes not roaming, he just comes out of his hot side goes to the cold, puts his head in the crack in the rock about 15-20 min then majes his way back to his hotside. But i just wanted to make sure it was at least semi normal.
