if only internet research just remember anyone with a comp and internet access can be a "expert" on any subject. you can not imagine how many terrible blogs i have seen about "experts" say ball pythons get 8-10 feet and will eat a rabbit every 2 weeks:O.

I joined this site on friday and have been reading up on threads and also some sites(which i know are not always credible.) i may try to find a book tomorrow and read it before i get the tank. I just want the setup perfect before i bring he/she home

Just make sure you get something to control the heat pad. Your snake can easily burn without a thermostat

When I got my hatchling I set up a 20 gallon long, with lots of stuff inside the tank to make it look smaller, and feel smaller for the snake. They like to feel secure. I found out that a tub is the way to go. Much more efficient with keeping in the humidity, and it is so much cheaper to set up a tub, verses the price of getting a tank kit. Learn from other peoples mistakes! Lol. You don't really need a light for a ball python either, they benefit more from belly heat alone. Pm me with any other questions I'm loaded!
