That's cute. I have been wanting to try that braid across the top/front but wasn't quite sure how they do it. I might leave my hair down more if I could keep that front chunk out of my face.

Nice Mike. LOL Whatever you do you should post a picture of it. Also, make sure to make full use of the open bar if there is one (though any good Areican wedding should have one) and toss one back for me!

Let's see if I can help
These are probably my favorite styles to do. And I add a flower clip to pretty much any style. Either in the front, or back by the pins. I loooove the flowers!

3/4 part. Take the bigger chunk. Roll it in towards your face. Hair spray, pin it, hair spray, adjust. Then sometimes I'll take the remaining hair in the back, tease a little to add some volume, cover, and pin it in the back (if that makes any sense).

This one is simple. 3/4 (or a little more) part in the front. Take a good size strip and slightly twist away from your head, then push up...it creates kind of a wave look. This is incredibly hard to explain. I hope it makes sense. Take the remaining hair, curl it, and pin it all loosely at the bottom right or left of your head (whichever you prefer). Add a flower to the opposite side.

Roll the front, curl the rest.

Straighten. 3/4 part. Poof up the larger side. Clip it about half way in the back of your head.

Bettie bangs and a bee hive

Or SUPER simple. Poof in the front. The rest curled.
    This was Halloween. Haha.

What I usually do when I want to have my hair up and don't want to muss with it too much is a french braided bun. Here's how I do it:

    1. Wash your hair and dry it so that it's mostly dry, but still a little damp. It will make a cleaner braid.
    2. Flip your hair upside down and start french braiding the under part of your hair. Keep braiding until you get to where you want your bun to be on your head. Tie the braid off with an elastic, and then Tie all your hair into a pony tail where the braid stops.
    3. Now you have two options:
    a) Make a regular ballerina style bun, by back-combing your pony tail a little to give it volume, then twist it into a bun and pin into place.
    b) Separate your hair into two sections and braid each section, tying them each off with a clear elastic. Take one braid and wind it around the base of your pony tail, and pin it into place. Wind the other braid around, but in the opposite direction. Secure with pins and tuck in the ends of your braids.

That way you'll have a bun with a french braid leading up to it. If you braid the actual bun, it looks really cool but you can only get clean braids if you do it with your ends damp, otherwise they have a tendency to jump out.

Thank you ladies for all the suggestions!! I actually went really lazy and just did a messy side bun. I have a pic but its not the best.

Don't mind the ugly black hairtie. I couldn't find my clear ones and I didn't have enough bobby pins to hold my hair :\

Oh, and here is a pic of the cake. Love it!!

Oh, and I couldn't use the open bar to my advantage. We had the reptile show on Saturday in Reading that we had to leave the house at 6am for. I did get a few drinks in me though :)

Sorry to temporarily hijack this Heather, but :O LOL I wouldn't have minded being your date for whatever Halloween party you went to, even if it did mean that I would have been stone by the end of the night(although, who wouldn't want a statue of THIS guy in their home? ;) I should add that would have been a Trojan warrior to compliment your costume, making my inevitable effigy that much sexier)!

    Alright Heather, back to you-
    1) For going lazy I think your hair looked great!
    2) You did say wedding, right? The cake is awesome but I would never guess that it was a wedding cake, so the bride and groom must be good people!
    3) That SUCKS about not being able to drink your face off but I guess being first in line at a show so that you get first pick of what's inside is a worthy excuse! Then again, I wouldn't mind being hungover at a show, and if I was even still a little drunk it would help me to not feel bad about buying animals that were a little more on the expensive side!
    4) Did you get anything at the show? Pictures if you did!

    I know, she's gorgeous right?!?!

This was a side cake next to the actual wedding cake. Their wedding cake was small and wouldn't have fed everyone there, so I'm guessing they had a second cake made. Anyway, it gave me a damn good idea for my wedding cake ( if I ever get married  )

We were actually vending at the show so we had to be there early to setup. I was pretty tired since I didn't fall asleep till after 2am, and I might have had a tad of a hangover.

I did get something at the show, but I will make a new post on them :P

If you aren't married then I assume that the we at the show and wedding were you and your boyfriend? Marriage is over-rated. At present I am going through a divorce from Afghanistan, and after the way that things have gone for me over the last year I feel like the walls that I've built are so high and thick that when/if they ever come down I still may just stay single so as to prevent myself from having to rely on anyone else for my own happiness... but don't take a bitter old man's word for it. :) What did you sell at the show and did you pick anything new up?
