I would do a watering system if I were you. Water bottles are a real pain to keep full, and if they run out of water they are dead. Watering systems are quiet so you don't have to worry about that. I use a plastic storage tub as my water container, you don't have to spend money on a fancy water tub.

in my experience, which is vastly more than i have on this forum,if i had snakes that all ate F/T there is NO WAY i would ever think about breeding rats....that is if you value your free time, the personal space of your bedroom, and the quality of sleep in said bedroom.....watering system or no they WILL wake you up or keep you awake at night with their wrestling and running about....and what if you want to have someone over to your room .....even if you adjust to the smell (which will be bad believe me) chances are the person that doesnt have rats in their room will be assaulted by the odor....it will get in your clothes, the carpet ect.....make your life easy and simpler .....drive to your buddys every 4 months, thats just my .02

    If everyone's on f/t, I wouldn't breed.

I breed mice as most of mine are on live, and paying $2.50+ a mouse is ridiculous.

Next time an expo is around, stock up on f/t.

I was paying $4 per small rat at the pet store and got 16 rats for under $30 at an expo.

Also, I have 4 cages (3 of ASFs, 1 mouse tank) in my room and I can sleep quite fine. Their wheels squeak all night but I've gotten used to it :p
