We had one female that would religiously go off feed for 10 months out of the year and would never eat an appropriate sized meal.

Her feeding schedule would go something like this:

    Eat 1 undersized rat.
    Fast for 3 weeks.
Kill undersized rat but not eat it.
    Fast for 4 weeks.
    Eat 1 undersized rat.
    Fast for 2 weeks.
Kill undersized rat but not eat it.
    Fast for 10 months.
    Repeat next year.

Re: Longest period of time your BP has fasted.
14 mos (offered a rat every week during that time)...then one day, he ate a rat like nothing ever happened. Been eating rats weekly for 3 years since then with no fasting at all. BP's are strange.

I have a couple that like to go off feed for 6-8 months out of the year. When they do decide to eat finally, they become garbage disposals!
