I just double checked the humidity. I just can't read it right. It's right around 78 now. And yes, I drilled holes in it. She's got plenty of ventilation.

You can use the medium/large binder clips to secure the edges of the tub top rather than taping it down. I know several people also use luggage straps looped over the tub and lid to secure them. Not ideal but if the one tub is all you have, it's way simpler than taping and re-taping or buying/building an entire rack for one snake. Good luck with her and I hope she pulls through! I have one I rescued, Rancid. He was in about the same boat as your girl, although a lot younger. Stuck sheds pulled several patches of skin off of him, mites, waaaaaaay underweight. He's one of my best feeders now and while he's scarred up like a derelict prizefighter, he pulled through with time and attention. Hope yours does the same! Take care and good luck! :gj:

I hope she pulls through too! I just fed her a fuzzy mouse tonight. She took a little coaxing, but she did eat it. Now she's back in her tub to digest. I didn't see any mites on her when I got her. She's just really underweight, probably a little bit dehydrated, and has that retained shed. However, the moss and humidity is helping to loosen it. It loosens a little bit more each day. Once I've moved (I've got to move at the end of the month) my entire collection has a trip to the reptile vet for check ups. Hopefully she'll have gained a good bit of weight by then.

As for the cage, I've had her in a 10 gal aquarium with a mesh top with most of the top covered by towels. The only place that isn't covered is around her lamp. As soon as I move, I'm going to build a custom cage that will house her, my two corns, and have room for 2 more pythons and 2 more corns. So she'll be out of quarantine by then and can be moved into a better enclosure. I have high hopes for her if she continues to improve like she's doing now.
