Heh, now I feel like an annoying customer, and I feel incredibly whiny. Thanks for putting up with me guys! -sheepishly walks away from the conversation-

I still am not sure. He shouldn't have been listing things for sale on KS, and maybe should have put up a notice on his FB page. Unless this is a spur-of-the-moment thing, or emergency...I wouldn't feel sheepish about it. You were a customer who simply wanted someone to respond back to you. Nothing bad.

I had a experience very similar to this. I really wanted this snake that was being advertised & pursued the breeder like you till he noticed me, it ended up being the worst thing I could have done. I got the run around the entire ordeal & then had to threaten for them to even send the snake out months after It was paid for. Not saying that it will happen to you but it could.

    Good luck.

Yeah... it only takes 5 seconds DURING a phone call in progress to say, "Sorry man, I'm a bit busy lately" or "There's been an emergency, and I'm sorry to have kept you waiting." I think personality style has a lot to do with someone's business etiquette and integrity. (Of course the psychologist brings in personality factors, haha)

If someone kind of gave me to cold shoulder about a business transaction or seemed to ignore me, I would think about how that might play out of there was a problem after delivery. I think customer service and business etiquette are extremely important and reflects the breeder's reputation and integrity.

I say don't feel weird about it. If anyone should feel sheepish, it would be the breeder for giving you the run around. IMHO

That's good to hear that you heard back, but leaving the country is a shady sounding situation to not disclose that in original details. All the breeders I've dealt with that had something coming up would let me know up front that they will be unavailable in the near future. . . . I'm sure every breeder has their reasons and their stories, but I would walk with caution, he could be using an excuse to keep you on the line longer while possibly waiting to see if he gets a better bite?

    Regardless, good luck!

Ok guys I own an auto upholstery business and from my point of view run like hell, I don't care what people say about past experience with this guy he could care less about your money. That is what business is about good product and money. If he uses the weekend as relaxing days I would say it took me a few minutes to write this and if it meant a new customer I would spend alot more. We aren't talking hard work here just a few lines to put you at ease and get the ball rolling in the right direction, and oh ya a new customer. Spend your money with a guy like Colin weaver, he treated me and my 750.00 like family and gold! I will use him over and over, he spent the time I spend the dime. Move on! Good luck.

I would agree that I would be worried about there being issues with the transaction if they are so hard to get hold of, HOWEVER I recently did a transaction w/ Joe Ellis and at first I was a bit worried about the same sort of thing: I would send him a message via Facebook and it would take anywhere between a day and a few days for him to respond. He's busy, it's understandable. Anyway though, I was a little worried about it but when there was an issue where FedEx screwed up and sent the package to the wrong address and then held it on the truck, I texted the number listed for him on FB and he had texted and then called me within 2 minutes and stayed on the phone back and forth with me and FedEx all day to resolve it. I got my snakes safely and will do business again.

Not saying that this breeder will do the same, but I had initially been a bit worried for the same reasons and he still took care of things very promptly when there was a serious issue so it could turn out the same.
