I absolutely love axanthics, and I am happy that they are not as popular as some other morphs. My favorite are the ax spiders, ax pastels, and ax bees/killers. I am finally getting a male VPI this year when I get home from Afghanistan, and it will be my 4th ball, but it will be my first ball with a recessive trait (all are morphs but none are recessive). I can't wait!

Axanthics have always been a favorite of mine. I can't wait to get a VPI Axanthic female to work into my firefly mojave project, but I'm not allowed to have any more BP's until I produce my first clutch.

Re: Why are Axanthic morphs not the most popular morph?!
The future of Axanthics is combos that hold color or even get better looking with age. That is the goal of the "fire axanthic", as fires generally look better with age, getting lighter and lighter (which could translate in to more and more silver fire axanthic with age).

I love my axanthic girl (spotnose vpi axanthic) pictured here with a 2011 bee girl I decided to keep.http://i573.photobucket.com/albums/s...islebp/020.jpg

I feel like an enchi axanthic would also hold quite a bit of color. Perhaps firefly axanthics. I realize that these would be very expensive for the average person but it's fun to think about.

My dream is to make fire axanthic clowns and pastel for axanthic clowns.

Here's a thread Jon Courtney posted a few weeks back with a fantastic adult axanthic...

Axanthics are in the near future for me...once I have space to add another recessive project.

The Lightning Pied is what really restarted my interest in snakes. I have a pair of het pieds but somehow have not gotten my VPI Axanthic yet : (. Jonathan says I can't get any more snakes until I make enough to buy another from my clutch.(come on and hatch already!)

That is an awesome link to John's thread. Maybe it isn't a coincidence that I love black rat snakes as well? There is just something about a black and white snake that I find incredibly beautiful.
