Well, for everyone else there is.. Unless he has a java client the site can use. If not the others on the site are stuck.

the irc server has been up for almost 2 weeks now, I switched if over to a different server (same location) yesterday and its almost 100%.. its operational tho so feel free to join it if u have IRC (or download it at www.mirc.com) if u do not. The server address is ddos.dual-oc192.net (instead of irc.reptilerap.com or whatever other irc server u connect to).

I'm having a friend build a applet for us so don't worry, a java client will be available in a day or so.

    What's the port #, Chris?

irc://ddos.dual-oc192.net/ball-pythons (paste that into IE if you already have mIRC installed, it should auto prompt u to connect to the sever and chat room.

If that doesn't wanna work for you the server is ddos.dual-oc192.net, port is 6667 (default IRC port), and the chat room is #ball-pythons.

Thank you! I wanted to add it to my Trillian, and from my searches 6667 and 6668 are both commonly used for IRC. It may not work here, though, because I don't think I have that port opened on the firewall.

anyone can download mIRC from www.mirc.com and just sorta follow the prompts to install/configure it. Its not that hard, but if anyone needs help until I get the java client up I'll be happy to assist.

Trillian handles IRC as well as AIM, MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, etc. all at once, which makes it very easy to use -- IF your firewall has all the right ports open. Then you don't have to use a different program for each type of chat. :)
