I'm still waiting on the "big one" to hit. Supposed to happen any minute now.

we have gas heat here, and would just blast it idf need be. I did have a heat / electric outage at an old apartment, I had to bag 63 different snakes and box them together by size, then throw in the heat packs. They all made it through (I almost froze to death) but even though they were surely uncomphtorable they made it. (I did luck out that none of them had transferable mites / parasites, otherwise it would've been much more difficult)

Well, we were out of electricity for 5 hours. Glad it is back on. I was about to Murder a couple of kids. Didnt know how bad it could get with no electric. Had just put heat packs in with Monty under a towel about an hour before the power came back on. Guess I will make the boy put them in his gloves and go scoop the 1 1/2 inches of sleet, ice that we got today. And more to come... Wooohoooo

We have a winter weather advisory going here too, and what really sucks is that while our heat is gas, the furnace blower is electric, so to get warm you have to open the front of the furnace and put your hands by the flames. What's the point of gas heat if you have to have electricity to make it work?

Anyway, glad to hear your power is back on and everybody's ok, even if nerves are a little frayed.
