haha, its cool man, we all gotta ask n learn somewhere. as far as carpets, just like has been said, they arent balls. they are way more active. better display animals too. mine never goes in her hide. she did at first but now she sits in her trees all day and checks out what is going on. as far as handling, mine is nippy in her cage but once she is out of the enclosure she is fine. very active when being held. definately not a tv watching lap snake like a ball but super fun to handle and a very confident and curious little girl. if the one you held was docile and your daughter felt good holding it, buy that thing!!! as far as size, if you want to stay on the smaller end of carpets, look at an Irian Jaya.
