I have always heard the opposite, but I have only incubated at 88 degrees so I can't really say which is faster from personal experience.

As far as my personal experience goes, I keep things a bit cooler with my snakes. Ambient of 82, hot spot of 85, and incubator at 88. This year my girls are consistently laying right around 37 days after POS, and being incubated at 87-88 degrees they've consistantly hatched out around 60-62 days in the past years.

Part of my reason for asking was wondering if the total time from Ovy to hatch was specific. Rather than figuring on 60 days from lay date, it would be X days from ovy. However, from what you are saying, that can still be impacted by using higher or lower temps. So what is the hard number of days from Ovy to hatch?

You state that it has been your experience that the hatchlings incubated at lower temps are larger and eat better. You also state that keeping your girls hot spot at a lower temp, tends to make thier lay date come later. Do you find any correlation in egg size to time from ovy to lay? Are the eggs larger as well since they took longer to be layed? Any issue with being egg bound?

I find this very interestig and would like to hear more from others but I do not want to hijack this thread. Perhaps I will start another.

I am sure the temp does matter, but heard theories that ~105 days from ovulation may be the more accurate count rather than days from laying or pre-lay shed. I don't have enough data to confirm, but your experience is counter-intuitive just based on temps. Do you have exact days from ovulation that they came out?
