Overall cool product. But i see it more as a "because we can" product haha.

The benefit is a simple one - not needing a debit card to still have access to cash. More and more things are moving towards mobile payment methodologies and it is probable that in the near future the mobile phone can serve as a payment device for almost all transactions. They do this in other countries for things like vending machines and such already.
Now if the states could be convinced to allow Drivers License to be on the phone and CC were able to be accessed as well then you would not need a wallet and could just have a phone :)
How bad would it stink then when your phone dies :)

This. There are a few gas stations around here that have had those installed. It freaks me out to the point of only paying for gas with cash and I rarely go to an ATM for this very reason.

I'm still trying to figure out why we HAVE to carry our driver's license with us at all times. I mean, police can look up all your information anyway but whatevs. Micro chips, anyone? Eek! Not me!
