I put my males into the females' tubs. I leave them there for 3 days. If I do NOT see a lock, then the male goes directly on to the next female. If I DO see a lock, I give the male 2 or 3 days off to boost his sperm count and rest, before moving him on to the next female. Males get several days off for food each week, if they accept it. If they refuse, they get 1 day to rest, and then back on.
I give them a full week or two off in the middle of the breeding season, to rest them up really well.

Males will typically have a reduced appetite, or stop feeding, once you begin breeding them. Younger males are more likely to continue eating than older ones, but it varies between individuals. Males will start eating again in spring, about the time females are clutching.

When males lock with the females, you will see that the male's tail is curled down and under the female's tail (so that his tail is upside-down)--if you don't see this, if the tails are just side-by-side and straight, then he's courting her, but they're not mating. Don't disturb locked animals, as the male's hemipene may be damaged if it's dislodged. They may lock for an hour, or for a DAY--or MORE. :)

In german Forums it seems that theres only stupid questions oO if you ask something no matter what they ask what temp, humidity, size of captivity etc. then they all fight about wether its good or bad how youre keeping them (usually no matter how someyone keeps theyre snake its all bad) then after about 3 pages of discussing theyll tell you to sell your snakes because theyre not worth of keeping or something like that without answering your question oO no matter what forum you go to it always works like this.

I just put up a documentary week per week about my boa cc peru who caught a rather rare disease and how the vet and I treated her and how she responded to what and how she came along, just in case somebody else has this amount of bad luck and catches this. I did this over 2 months, to just read things in the end like "who cares" and people gossiping in a mean way about me treating my boa like an actual part of the family and caring for her like this. To wrap things up she s healthy and well and survived an often fatal disease.

Thank you all for just existing I m so exited about sharing my experiences with you all and hopefully beeing able to help someone too in the future!

Ps. Im sorry if my grammar sucks at times, I ve been a bit out of practice these days :)
