    The most accurate and scientific way to measure a snake is to use a string and run it down the spine of the snake. Start with the end o the string on the nose of the snake and run the strong down the back of the spine feeding the snake either through your hands or stetched out on the ground. When you get to the tail, mark the string with a line. Take the sting and measure it :-)

    I just measured mine with a cloth tape measure, didn't seem terribly hard at all.
