thermostat advice needed

A room humidifier is the easiest and cheapest likely. The cool mist ones will often tank the temps so unless you are in a hot area I'd go with a warm mist type. I usually get two years out of a unit.

Tank foggers are asking for scale rot and usually put out too much humidity at a time.

Like Aaron said, it depends on your caging.

Tubs and PVC enclosures don't usually require extra misting. Glass Tanks are more difficult to maintain humidity.

I live in utah so humidity is always on the low end and so far it has been a pain in the butt to keep the humidity up

also I have insulated the sides of the tank and covered 3/4 of the top of the tank and that helped but it is still a lot of checking to make sure it is good

Substrate can greatly effect humidity. I have found that coco husk (Eco earth) is the best for holding humidity. Cypress mulch comes in second.

You can cover most of the screen top with a damp towel or aluminum foil.

You can add another or larger water dish

If humidity is really an issue a humid hide (hide with moss in it)
