I'm glad this thread got started cause I was thinking or starting one with a similar topic. I have two dinkers I bred this year ,many of you have probably seen pics of, for the longest I have only been dropping the pics,updates and stuff on this forum, and I only posted about it once on bush league.
Since I finally got eggs out of the two it seems the male has proven to be genetic but as the babies go thru their second shed it doesn't look like mom has affected their colors so I'm gunning for hers to be recessive.
I haven't asked any of the 'big breeders' what they think in all the time I have had them.
I got 4.5 babies with 4 of the females being visual for dads trait,all the males are generally 'normal' appearing, with an -iffy- one that's my definite hold back.
I only had a couple people from the forums interested in moms genes but the way the babies turned out I pretty much can't let go of any of the females, not even the 1 'normal' female.
Also If its recessive why would you let go of females first?
