Aw man...I could never leave my pets...going to college close by for 2 years and then I have to find someplace to rent! My one cat freaks out if I'm gone for more than two days..

Maybe if you asked realllllllly nicely and explained in detail how the beardie would be ok and it wouldn't be a burden or make a mess. Heck, show then some good youtube vids of tame ones or of your own! Also helps if you make the cage look cool

Thanks for the advice. I'm really thinking about asking him again (maybe in writing, so he has to hear my case and can't cut me off in the middle like before) because this is tearing me up.

I don't know how I'm going to manage next year. Plus my Beardie has been being finicky with her food, I've been having to hand feed her veggies with babyfood on them or she won't eat them, and I know my family won't be willing to shell out the time to do the same, I know she'll be fine but I worry.

Also, I did some searching for any sort of rescue and I did find that they we have a Have a Heart Save a Life type thing... but the petshop I knew of apparently closed and there's not another one around the town. Totally bummed.

Especially since last weekend I went back to my hometown and spent like literally 2.5 hours in the reptile store there talking to the people who worked there and holding all of their stuff... don't know how I'm going to do it next year. At all.

Wow that is too bad. I havent even consulted my landlords but then again they live in Illinois and I am in Washington. And if for some reason they come to Wa and see my collection and tell me they had to go I would start looking for a new place. I have invested too much in my animals theres no way in hell I would get rid of them. Again I am sorry about your situation.

    Really
I am so sorry. This is why my daughter knows that if she goes to a dorm or whatever, any of her animals are safe with us until she can take them. And that includes her spider collection!

Have you tried talking to the landlord at all? It sounds like you kinda just keep to yourself and arent much of a partyer. I would really try and convince him to let you bring your beardie. Also if youre a girl play that to your advantage when you talk to him lol. AKA fake crying is what i mean, haha:gj:

I did calm the landlord and ask, and he completely shut me down, but that was before I had ever net him in person. Maybe he would be more lenient now that he has seen. E face to face.

I don't party at all, but all three of my roommates do and they are all in the same sorority so I know I'm just gonna be sitting there at night by myself with nothing to do haha....

I wouldn't even worry about landlords when it comes to your reptiles. They are pretty easy to hide and usually extremely quiet. What they don't know won't hurt em. In fact I have no future plans of letting a landlord know of anything except my cat and bird.

I'm sorry you're enduring this. Hopefully your lease is only for the year. Then you can find a pet friendly complex for the rest of your college life.

I couldn't imagine leaving my animals home for 4+ years. For some of them, that's more than half of their life.
