Give your new snake a few days to settle down before you start making a lot of changes in the enclosure.

They are very prone to cruising around for the first few days, especially in larger tanks like yours.

I agree. The guy at the reptile store (Twin Cities Reptiles) told me not to over think everything so I'll settle down a bit. If my son was older I'd be a little more at ease but I'm "The Man" when it comes to care and such. My wife was kind enough to let him/us do this and I don't expect a lot of help from her. However, I did notice she was VERY entertained watching the little girl do her thing.

I'm hoping she develops a love for the snake after we've had it a while. I hear these things do happen from time to time.

Just a heads up. A BP doesn't ball up when they are in their hides, they just kinda coil themselves up so they can touch most of the hide. When a BP gets stressed or is frightened is when they will ball themselves up, thats their defense against a predator/enemy.

Good to know. So now I just want to see her in a hide. She's draped over a branch now on top of a hide. Hasn't moved in hours. Switched to the infrared light for night moves. She's not ready to party tonight : )
