LOL........yeah that flashlight idea is a forehead slapper....
If you do have an old pump from fishtanks past, run a hose in with an airstone on the end and sink that in the water dish. That should help a little, anyway. Anything to get it as close to 60% as you can.
IMO, ditch the foil and join the duct tape brigade. cover the screen and use a razor blade to cut the light hole and pretty up edges. It stays put, and works really well.

I'll be looking for fish tank supplies shortly. I really don't want to use duct tape, though, because it results in really sticky screen when I need to remove it, as I will inevitably have to do at some point. I can probably just cover the entire top with foil, then cut holes slightly larger than the lights need to allow some air flow. My humidity stays up pretty well when I don't have two lights running and the entire top uncovered, and I don't want to end up battling problems because of too much humidity, either. Thanks for the pump suggestion, though; hopefully I'll be able to put that into place today.

I'd say get a big rubbermaid and ditch the tank! They cost like $10 and get the humidity job done better than any of those devices. JMHO

I was looking at one today and might go that route yet, but right now I really want to be able to keep an eye on her. Good news, though: after her 1 hour soaking early today, when I opened the lid to put her back in the tank, she actually recoiled! Granted, it's a stressful thing for her, but she's always been too lethargic for that before! I'm going to try feeding her tonight as the vet suggested, but I think I'll see if she'll take it first before doing the force-feeding thing, and maybe give her a shorter pre-dinner soak to perk her up first.

Yeah, try feeding her something small tonight, like a fuzzy mouse. SHe if she takes that down. Keep us updated!

All we had was adult and pinky, and the vet said to feed her a pinky. She didn't want to take it, though she was feeling might perky from her bath (she's obviously feeling better today). So, I did my first force/assist-feeding of a pinky (minus a leg -- ew!) and so far no regurgitation. Per the vet's instructions, I'll do it again Wed. unless she'll take it voluntarily, and if that goes well I'll feed the last two pinkies in the fridge next weekend then move onto adult mice. Check the photos section, as I'll have pics up there in a minute.
