No it wasn't with me. Were getting a pinky tommorrow. For him. I got him at the reptile show. I didn't think nothing of the unclosed area. I don't think he's shed either. He's got pieces on him where you can see his shed. Is there anything I should do except feed himk

It looks like there's a scab in there when I look closer.

If you have a good vet in your area a trip might be in order... I'd also keep him on paper and keep everything very clean.

He's definately on newspaper. I'm going to try to feed him a pinky today. Unless you think I shouldn't.

    Hi,

    A pinky rat?

I ask as a pinky mouse is too small. I start even the smallest of mine on hopper mice.

It should close up fine just keep him on the paper substrate for the minute. :)

Yeah. I was going to feed a pinky mouse first then move from there. I know its too small but the store didn't have anything smaller than a sm rat. Since I don't breed my own food, I have to go with what I can get. Regardless, I tried it. It's currently in the tub now, with nothing. No response at all from him. He doesn't even seem interested.

    Hi,

Yeah I noticed they tended to ignore them when I tried them in the past.

Fingers crossed he eats it later.

I'm going to wait a few days and try maybe Thursday or Friday. Friday is feed and cleaning cage day anyways. I am however scared to offer anything too big bc I don't want to stretch the area on the belly too much. I know they can go a while before eating. I've done a few searches on here about it. I won't get too nervous for at least another 2 weeks.

Well, feed attempt 2, he didn't take it. The hole also isn't closed up. I tried rat pup. The store only had hoppers as next size up. So....... Yeah. Going to try again Wednesday. Since its my next day off. I'm really hoping he eats soon. I'm starting to have first twinges of doubt he'll be okay.
