Emergency!!! Please help!

I does sound like RI to me too. I also would recommend a vet and a culture. Some vets allow a spread out payment. (my old vet allowed 30% and than 25% a month for three months yup a 105% of the bill 5% for the service) My new one does not at all. It is worth checking.

You have lost a snake to the same issue if that was recently I would seriously look very hard at your husbandry!! How you clean your temps and you ventilation/humidly if it is RI high humidity and low ventilation can often cause repeat RI. In any event a correction in husbandry can save you lots of grief in the long run.

*****This girl was going to be heartbreaking. She went from being a typical boa to noticing a watery discharge one night to a full blown RI 48 hours later. Thomas told me to crank the temps up way above my comfort level to help dry her out, Rich @ Reptile Basics for their great service and fast shipping as always AND Brian @ BHB Reptiles for posting the "Down with the sickness" video.Needless to say, she was showing a full 180 degree turn around within the first 5 days of the elevated temps and fogging her with F10 twice a day but I kept up everything for a full 14 days just to make sure. I also did not feed her this entire time, she lost about 100ish grams in the two weeks and I could tell she was stressed the first week. She is now back to eating, though I did not feed her the normal 2 smalls that she usually gets but we will slowly work back up just to not stress her any more than needed.I feel like the bad parent for having a snake get sick but I know what did it and I didnt realize the a/c was keeping her ambient temps on the cool side, even with a good hot spot. Anyway, Thanks to all those involved!!!! Its easy to offer help but had to think of what to do when its your own in need. All the other snakes are on the other side of the house and everyone there is great.*****

Where do you get F10 from?? Might be one of those things I like to keep on hand "just in case".

I have never used it as a fogger but it is a great disinfectant. I get mine from http://www.bigreptileworld.co.uk/ they carry the whole line up not just the base product.

To the OP, in my opinion, you need to get your snake to the vet asap.

How would a disinfectant being fogged into the enclosure get rid of an RI? Can someone explain the science behid that to me.
Having the snake inhale more humid air and moistore doesnt seem like the best idea haha, but obviously it worked for pit!

RI is often not always caused by bacteria and F10 is safe for contact. A lung wash is far beyond most but just breathing a topical anti bacterial the theory is it will help reduce the RI causing bacteria. I would count on it myself and especially not in extreme cases.

OP the best advise is the vet.

"Hi Alex,

Mix 4ml F10 SC in a litre of water (dilution ratio 1:250) and nebulize the reptile for approx 30 - 40 mins every day until the RI is cleared. If its a snake, after nebulizing hold it head down and clean any mucus from the mouth with an ear-bud. If you see no improvement after a week or so, go to a vet. Nebulizing works if you catch RI early however if its severe you may also need antibiotics. You should also check your environment is set up correctly - temps, humidity, etc.

I know some whom treat all new snakes this way for quarantine measures.

I had a case of RI recently and got the proper meds and antibiotics to treat it "Baytril" and my snake has taken a complete 180. No more mucus or mouth breathing. I would defiantly go and take her to the vet asap like pitontheprown said they can go down hill real fast. I would take her away from your collection also and quarantine her for atleast 3 months after it clears. I unfortunately think another one of my ball pythons is showing signs of an ri. I made sure i took her away from my established collection and keeping a good eye on her.
