Rusty....I said this on another forum you posted this on, but I'll say it again here......Schneider's Skinks are NOT the same as Sandfish.....they are very different. They're totally different species......Schenider's get much bigger and don't have the shovel-like upturned nose.
Hi David, I appologize for the mix up. Many people tend to call them sandfish also.
Anyhow I personally have never been on any other forums (that I recall) with you besides "the reptile rooms" But I don't beleive we've ever accually met in that said forum either.
But thank you for the clarification.

No problem, Rusty. There was a big thread on TRR about it. I don't know much about the care of Sandfish.

Nice lizard david. interesting colors and cute as a darn button. i've been interested in skinks since i was old enough to talk. i'm not sure what kind i used to have other than the good ol' blue tails, but one of them was about as large as yours... maybe a bit larger. and had a red face, with a brown body. i believe i called it a "broad-head" when i was little. ever heard of that or am i just making stuff up again?

well i found it in north carolina, it had taken over a birdhouse in my back yard.. my father was cutting the grass and he saw its head peaking out and thought it was a snake, so immediately ran and got me.. and we removed it. low and behold, a monster sized skink.

Yes, I've heard of Broad-Headed Skinks....we have them here in Kentucky. Very neat looking critters.
