Pastel. He's rather browned out already, but he has some great blushing.

This guy has done amazing work with fish, (which I am more comfortable judging quality), and have yet to really have a bad experience with him there. I was shopping around for my first ball python, after doing research for a couple of weeks. (i've kept snakes in the past, just not balls). So being a good customer of his with one animal, and hearing good things about his snakes I thought i'd give him a try. I haven't bought the animal yet, I was just curious about some of the quality. It's a real let down that he's not as good with his snakes as he is with his fish.

On that note: I did see the animal in person, and even if his genetics seem low quality from what I can tell he seems healthy ( inquisitive, decent grip, normal tongue movements, no weird breathing). My only concern is that he looks a little bit on the skinny side, but I might just be inexperienced in telling.

There are many places online to get high quality ball pythons, you don't have to settle for second best.

Of course, if you want it just for a pet and not to breed, that doesn't make any difference.

By the way, if this guy can't even tell what he's breeding and selling, I wouldn't want anything of his. Just saying.

Is it a good price? If you consider the size and that shipping is included? Yes however it is a brown out pastel so if your goal is too breed I would not recommend it.

If you want a pet and you like him why not.

Personally the price to me is always secondary, the most important is to purchase a high quality animal simply because I believe in selective breeding and thrive to produce the best looking possible animals.

    Ultimately the choice is YOURS

A browned out pastel is not a representation of a poor quality breeder, simply an aesthetically poor quality animal. He can't change the color or overall look of the snake by adding some carbon and checking the pH, or feeding with Hikari instead of Wardley. He can only produce progressively better animals be choosing which animals he pairs together. He may have the absolute best set up and husbandry that exists... but that doesn't mean he will get perfect animals every time - nobody gets perfect animals every time (unless they're Dave Green, apparently).

If his enclosures are clean, his animals healthy, and you are just looking for a pet, this is not a bad deal at all. If you are planning on breeding, as others have stated, the browned out pastel is not what most people consider to be a good representation of the animal.

Thankyou, this is infact meant to be just a pet, and like I mentioned earlier the animal is healthy as I can tell. Thanks everyone for their imput.

Not very bright, but fantastic blushing for a pastel.
