Though if you're feeding in a different tub and they start refusing, it's a good idea to try in the enclosure and see if it's stress making them not want to eat. I haven't had any problems with Aradia eating in her tub, I just make sure the mouse is completely dry so there's no chance of substrate sticking to it for her to ingest.

Cage agression in BPs is a myth that just won't die. There is no reason to feed your BP in a seperate tub, and there are several good reasons not to.

Offering dry prey items will reduce the amount of substrate your snake is likely to ingest. Keep in mind that these animals digest hair, teeth, and bones...a little Eco Earth or an aspen chip isn't going to be a problem.

Re: Livng in Tank but Feeding in Bin
There is no reason not to feed in tank and feeding in a separate tub can cause stress and refusal to eat.

i feed mine in a separate box because he makes a mess. my old snake ethel always ate in her tank though, and i never had any aggression issues with her. i choose to feed ren outside the cage just so i don't have to clean his mess each time.
