    Ok..got you on the herpes thing.....I totally understand I NEED to get Silas to the vets....The heating pad thing though I guess I do not understand is that not a way for him to be burnt as well....Gee wiz never new there were so much behind these guys but to back me up on that comment I HAVE BECOME ATTACHED to this slithering guy even if I only hold him a little at a time I guess my fear of snakes is coming to an end.....

    i heat pad may burn him if you don't have it on a rehostat. i think they are essential for bps others might not agree but with my experience its good to have them
    any way goodluck on finding a vet hope he pulls through for you

    As do Ihave one other question should I be running this light in his tank 24 7 ?.....He only basks once in a while so I have seen him do so far then he is shell bound loves to be in his shell and also he seems to be getting to big for his shell he hides under should I be getting him somthing larger?....or do they like the confinment?

    I use red bulbs to run 24/7, never use white bulbs. And in my experience bp's LOVE tight hides.
