Ladies pantyhose are the best for palpating. Right before your female ovulates it will feel like golf balls in there. And after ovulation, you won't be able to feel them until right before they lay. Then you can usually count each egg.

Where did you getyour Ultrasound machine, how big is it and is it easy to use? What was the approximate cost?

I have wanted an Ultrasound for a long time, but get confused by all the different types out there and very high prices. I need some guideance as
to where to look and the actual type ultrasound. Some have this tip, or
that tip...some are small and portable....help!

In addition to all the pluses you mention, another is that you also don't work your males nearly so hard when you know where the females are in follicular development.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

You will know when you feel them. As the female moves through your hand they tend to slow down as you get to the follicles and then they are easier to feel as your fingers slide over them. I don't count them as developing till they are nickel sized. And I know that ovulation happens after they are walnut sized.

They are harder to find in bigger snakes. I can never get a good count in them till the follicles are much bigger than nickel sized......
