I actually just purchased a spider, and had heard about the wobble before and am not to worried about it I know it's just something they do and it doesn't harm them, but is it present in all spiders or is it just random chance, and is it only provoked at certain times?

All Spiders and Spider complex morphs can wobble. Anything can trigger it, or nothing at all can set them off. Some do it worse than others.

It's present in all but to varying degrees. Some you'd look at and swear there's nothing wrong with them, others are train wrecks. Some you wont really notice until they get excited feeding, or breeding or being handled, some you'll see it all the time. Depends on the individual snake.

Thanks. He had started to calm down, but I decided to put him back in his tub and put the male I was breeding to her back in there with her. I am pretty sure she is in fact a female. She is the Het Pied I have been breeding to my Het male. She had suddenly stopped breeding with the male about a month ago, but continued to eat until about a week ago. So I wasn't sure if she was gravid or not. So I wanted to see if she would lock up with the spider. She was interested in him, but I decided to pull him out and wait til the fall to breed him with a female. I will pair him up this fall and if he has any major problems than, I will decide if I want to keep him in my breeding plans. But the fact that he had started to calm down and do better gives me hope:) Plus now my Het male is uber interested in my female. I wish it was easier for those of us new to breeding bp's to be able to tell if a female is gravid or not.:D

My spider wobbles and corkscrews quite a bit and pretty much everything excites him. I will say that once he's locked with her he does settle down but if I open the tub to see if they are still locked or if I'm feeding the rest of the collection(while they are locked) he will start to corkscrew, but that's just him. :)

Yes, he should settle down and manage to conduct business--spiders are usually good breeders, wobble or no. Stress, whether 'good' or 'bad', seems to be a big trigger for wobble.

It doesn't appear to cause them real distress...if it did, one would think they would show signs of it, such as poor feeding, etc, but they tend to feed very well.

Thanks everyone. He had started to settle down, and I put him back in his normal tub. He is completely fine and ate for me yesterday with no problems. I next fall I will pair him up with one of my girls and see how things go:)
