    Ditch the 3" all together. A strip of 4" on each tub is more than enough to provide adequate belly heat when regulated with a t-stat. The flexwatt is not used to proper ambient temps. You just have to up the ambient temps in the room itself.

    That's what ill have to do.. I just figured it would be better to have the ambient temps in front of the tank also. Ive read the best scenario is to have 1/3 of the tank heated for 41qts...
