My baby is six months old and although she's grown a little she isn't much bigger then when I got her. She's perfectly healthy, eats a medium f/t mouse a week, is currently in shed, and I've checked and rechecked the husbandry and it's fine. So why isn't she growing more? I tried feeding her 2 mice a week but she wont eat the second one and she's too small to eat a larger size. I've tried a f/t hopper but she turned her nose up to it too. I'm sure she's not sick so I'm not worried yet. I think your snake is like mine and just growing slowly especially with a back injury, healed or not, that would definitely have an impact on it's growth.

How many grams is your ball? Most baby balls can take full grown adult mice within the first month or two of life. If she is in shed, that is probably why she is refusing to eat. Most will not eat in shed. This is normal and nothing to worry about. Try offering again a few days after she sheds. That said and I can't stress this enough, get your ball on rats. Switching mousers can be a real PITA.

Trying to feed more's a good idea. If the weather's still cool in your area though, he may refuse to eat more. When the weather warms up they'll usually start eating more and packing on the weight.

Yea I don't think she gets enough to eat. I have a nice scale but it seems to freak her out. The first time I placed her directly on it and she bolted. lol That was the fastest she has ever moved. Then I tried placing her in a plastic bowl on the scale but she wouldn't stay in it, so I poked holes in a top and tried again. She would not sit still long enough for me to get the top on so I gave up trying to weigh her. I would prefer she eat rats but I've tried many times in the five months I've had her and she has refused each time. This is my first pet snake and I know I have a lot to learn so any and all advise is appreciated.

To the poster, I'm sorry it's not my intention to highjack your thread.
