I have never seen an appliance timer with the other brands the ecozone and herpkeeper and herpstat. I would not suggest a timer with any of them! The triac controllers are sensitive and killing the power to them is likely to cause odd behavior.

The Helix and VE line thermostats require a timer for night drop functionality. The way they work is when the timer clicks on the thermostat gets power on a dedicated jack that tells the the thermostat to enter night drop mode. (basically it is a timer controlled "normally open" switch)

Herpstat thermostats do not need this because they have an internal clock.

The only four outlet units are the herpstat herpkeeper and ecozone they all ate built in. The Eco and keeper also have seasonal timers as well adjusting drops summer winter doing and fall too. The ve 300 is a two outlet and helix 1 neither is a four outlet so I didn't consider them as the same class as the HS4.

Thanks Aaron that is what I could not find anywhere.. I'm tired of having to rely on the appliance timers and really considering making the switch. Thanks again!

One of the best husbandry related items I've ever bought!

I don't run the 4 model, but have the Herpstat 2, and the Herpstat intro, I believe is what the other is. Love Herpstat products, great reliable tstats. Like Aaron said, just don't exceed the wattage, and you should be fine.
