    I agree with all the above you need a better thermostat, and two of them. The only time you can run 2 racks on one T-stat is if the racks are identical, and then I still would not recommend it long term.

    This is not directed specifically at the OP, but the price and availability of theses things really should be factored in to the overall purchasing, even if it means not getting the next snake to ensure you have the proper gear and do not injure/kill the ones you have. When you have multiple racks going, you are beyond the "I am new to this and just did not know" phase IMO.

    Is that a big apple herp thermostat..i had the same one and hooked up 3 different 3 inch heat tapes to the unit and all the tapes were different degrees and one of the tapes got so hot it burnt my black pastel....that thermostat is garbage...threw it in the garbage...thank god i check on them everyday or she would have been dead...

    I really like my Vivarium from reptile basics, I have the 300x2, it can control two different racks. I love all the features it has, lots of safety stuff! The basic model is only $85 and ready to go. I also have a Helix and a Rancho as a back up. I really like my Helix as well, it's just very out of date for the price.
