Re: I love being a bp owner
Eating in shed depends on the snake fell free to offer but I would wait considering this is a new snake to you I would wait a week before I offer at all. Gives your little guy a chance to settle in and adjust.

x2
You can try to feed during shed, there isn't anything wrong with doing so. They can't see very well during the first phase of the shed cycle and generally feel like crap. Some will eat no problem others will not. You just need to see what your BP wants.
The same applies for not handling a new snake for the first week or so. This is a generalization that we make to help ensure a smooth transition. Some BP's will eat for you the day you get them, others will not. By leaving them alone you drastically increase your chances of a successful first feeding (not because they are more hungry though that might help in some cases) but because they have had time to settle in and feel secure in their new home.
There are somethings in this hobby that are absolute (like UTH's need a thermostat) but there are also a lot of things that we make generalizations about (especially with new owners, once agin to bolster their chances of successfully keeping their new BP happy and healthy) but in time all owners learn how to read their snakes and fine tune their husbandry accordingly.

Very interesting animals, facinating, really
3 months is nothing, they can go over a year without food. (now that obviously isn't good for them but they can do it)
