I would highly recommend staying on schedule with the feeding. if he was a good eater once/week and now snubs his nose, he isn't ready. just wait another week and offer it again. Good Luck!

    Thanks MeinDraco,
Your're correct that my feeding days were not steady. I will try to stay on a more regular schedule. Also I offered a rat instead of mouse. He is just out of sorts.
Is he ready to move to eating every 10 days? He was eating every 7 days. Is it best to wait a few months before changing to a 10 day schedule?
I am thinking of buying another undertank heater for the cool side with dimmer ,as the over head lamp ruins the humidity levels. Is this common to have two seperate units on each side? Any better solutions? He is in a 20 gallon long tank.
    Thanks,
    Todd

    Still NOT eating.
I have tried twice more. He seems curious, sniffing, then gets a bit scared.
IT'S like he has totally no clue what this thing is doing in his cage. I left hide in last time , no took it out.
I'm frustrated!!!!!!!!!! It has been about 6 weeks with no food. He has always taken live mice.

Should I just keep trying to feed every 5 days or so? Will he figure it out?
Any help is appreciated. I feel bad thinking he is really hungry.
    Thanks,
    Todd

Did you scent a small rat crawler with mouse bedding? This worked for my mouser. Size can also be a big issue. I have a 900g girl who get freaked out over anything bigger than a large rat pup (or a very small, small rat), so I have to feed her 2.

If it has been over a month, I would just go back to mice and start over.

    Here is my plan:

At least 2 consecutive mice, then try a rat crawler. If it takes the rat, after a couple of feedings I go pre-killed then if that works to f/t. If at any point there is a refusal, I backtrack as many steps as needed to get back to constant feeding, and start moving forward again.

    BPs are just weird sometimes.
